All time is in seconds.

All numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number.

There will be a determined number of final videos (Y) made from a given set of footage (X). This number is determined by one roll of the dice, 1-12.

To determine how many edits to make on a given video clip within a given set of footage, the equation, r = (√A / Π)x
Where A = the length of the video clip, and x = the roll of one die, 1-6.

The audio will be altered in the same manner as the video, except for the Focus and Exposure edits.*

All edits occur or begin at the determined editing start point.

All editing start points are calculated from the end of the previous edit.

If an edit is determined to last longer than the remaining length of a clip, then the needed amount of footage will be copied from the beginning of the clip. This will increase the total length of the clip. As well, any edits which occur on the copied portion of the clip will have the finished edit performed over top of the existing edit(s).

CUTS – A Cut is made at the determined editing start point, and the determined length of footage after the cut is deleted.

FADES – Only Fade-ins and Fade-outs will be performed. A Fade-in will start the determined editing start point with a black screen and fade-in for the determined length. A Fade-out will start at the determined edit point and fade-out to a black screen for the determined length.

DISSOLVES – A Dissolve will start at the determined edit point and last for the determined amount of time.

FOCUS – The image will immediately go to the determined Focus percentage at the determined edit point and remain at that Focus percentage for the determined length of time. The image will immediately return to as it was with no focus alteration at the end of the determined Focus length.

EXPOSURE - The image will immediately go to the determined Exposure percentage at the determined edit point and remain at that Exposure percentage for the determined length of time. The image will immediately return to as it was with no exposure alteration at the end of the determined Exposure length.
SPEED - The image will immediately go to the determined Speed percentage at the determined edit point and remain at that Speed percentage for the determined length of time. The image will immediately return to as it was with no speed alteration at the end of the determined Speed length.

EDITING PROCEDURES

Determine the number of videos (Y) to be made from footage (X) by one roll of the dice, 1-12.
Determine the number of edits on a video clip in footage (X) using r = (√A/Π)x
Determine an edit point using e = r/x + √A where r = number of edit points, x = roll of a die, 1-6, and A = length of video clip
Determine which edit to perform using one roll of a die, 1-6, where: 1=CUT, 2=FADE, 3=DISSOLVE, 4=SPEED, 5=FOCUS, 6=EXPOSURE
Refer to the editing rules and to the edit chart for the sub-determinates of each edit: Cut, roll one die once, 1-6. Fade, roll one die once for positive(1-3) or negative(4-6), and again for length, 1-6. Dissolve, roll one die once, 1-6. Speed, roll one die once for positive(1-3) or negative(4-6), and dice once for length and percentage, 1-12. Focus, roll one die once for positive(1-3) or negative(4-6), and again for length, 1-6. Exposure, roll one die once for positive(1-3) or negative(4-6), and dice once for length and percentage, 1-12.

ADDENDUMS TO EDITING RULES

Roll a a die once, 1-6, to determine the number of times to run a video clip through the system.

All edited video clips will be assembled at random, using the “number in a hat” method.

The assembled video clips will be run through the system a determined number of times using one roll of the die, 1-6.

If there is no audio to the footage, audio can be added unedited.

For Cut, Fade and Dissolve, use the “number in a hat” method to determine another video clip to edit to. Use equation from Editing Procedure #3 to determine an edit-in point on the new video clip. After an edit is made to a new video clip, the new clip will remain for the duration of the original video clip.

The Addendums to the Editing Rules are optional; or, all, some or none of them can be enforced.

If two or more identical edits occur one after another, the time between edits can be disregarded so that the edits are on top of each other.

For the calculation of "x" in a sequence of determinates, one roll of a die must be performed first, but then the roll of the dice (1-12) can be performed in an alternating order.
